                    "history": "As-built total collecting area of the OTE. The nominal collecting area of the OTE is 25.326 m^2 (Lightsey et al. 2012, Optical Engineering 51 011003). The slightly higher value given here is based on measurements of the polished area of the segments by Ball Aerospace (26.31 m^2 total), adjusted for the cosine projection factors due to the tilts of the segments and angle of the chief ray, less 0.8567 m^2 for the secondary mirror supports obscuration, less 0.2% allocation for polishing defects. This value should be considered to have an uncertainty of 0.1% = +- 254 cm^2.",
