The 50CORON
imaging
mode is useful for imaging of faint targets next to bright ones. The STIS CCD optics include a Lyot stop, which suppresses the wings of the PSF. Recommended for broad-band coronagraphic imaging. Observers considering use of this mode may also want to investigate ACS coronagraphic imaging.
