11.1 Essential Program Information

A fully specified COS exposure needs to include these data:

1. The target to be observed and its coordinates.
2. The COS aperture to use: PSA or BOA (or WCA for user-defined wavecals).
3. The COS channel being used: FUV or NUV.
4. The instrument mode, such as ACQ/SEARCH, or TIME-TAG.
5. For spectra, the grating and wavelength setting.
6. The exposure time.
