osf_update

NOTE: When running on a case sensitive operating system (e.g. UNIX), you must supply values that match the case of the OSF blackboard (typically lowercase).

Usage:

% osf_update -p pathfilename -f filename -s status

[-t type] [-n current_number] [-m new_number] [-c column] [-x time_stamp]

p : name of the path file. This does not include the directory specification. The path is assumed to be in opus_definitions_dir. No default.

f : name of the observation or fileset. This is often the root name of an exposure, but might be the rootname of any dataset. No default.

t : datatype of the dataset. This is usually the instrument, but might also be 'ANC' for ancilliary data or 'OMA' for grand mamas. Default = match any.

n : the DCF number - or any 3 digit number to distinguish (and sort) the observation status files. Default = match any.

m : New DCF number - or any 3 digit number to distinguish (and sort) the observation status files. Default = none.

c : the column in the observation status file. This is a two character field. The column identifier must exist in the pipeline.stage file. More than one -c option may be specified provided that there are matching -s options. Default = (first column)

x : time stamp on the OSF. This is not normally necessary to uniquely specify the OSF, but may be of interest in modified blackboards. No default.

s : status letter to be placed in the field, or used as a selection criteria when updating the DCF_NUM field. Default = 'P'.

Returned status value is: '0' on success, '1' on general failure, or '2' on failure due to a persistent file lock.

$ osf_update -p blue.path -f N42T3TAUQ -t NIC -n 107 -c DE -s P

if the original Observation Status File (OSF) was

this command results in an Observation Status File (OSF):

34041E70-P_P_____________________.N42T3TAUQ______________-NIC-107-____

updated in the OPUS_OBSERVATIONS_DIR directory as defined in the path file OPUS_DEFINITIONS_DIR:blue.path.
