CALFOS

Format: CALFOS IPPPSSOOT

This command has been transferred over from the PODPS system intact. It will update the observation's trailer file with all the calibration messages that appear on the user's screen.

It is also possible to run the iraf calibration task directly from the VMS command line. See IRAF help to set up the DCL level symbol for calibration correctly. However, this method of running calibration will not log the calibration informational messages to the trailer file.

A Generic, Edited Information Set (GEIS) of FOS science data.

A Calibrated Information Set (CIS).

The GEIS file set must reside in the user's working directory. If the user wishes to use his own calibration tables, user must edit the appropriate keywords in the GEIS headers.

IPPPSSOOT

The PODPS-style name of the observation to be calibrated where:
I : Instrument character (Y)

PPP : Program_id (3 characters)

SS : Obset_id (2 characters)

OO : Ob_number (2 characters)

T : Type (1 character, usually (R|O|T|M))
